Pvt. THOMAS WILLIAM JOHNSON - POW

Age at enlistment: 16

Born:  22 October 1845 Hillsborough Co., FL

Parents:

Died: 31 June 1911 Pasco County, Florida

Final Resting Place: unknown

Married: Winnie Anderson 10/28/96

Children: 

Appearance:  5' 5", fair complexion, grey eyes, dark hair

 

Appears on 1860 Census of Sumter, Florida.

 Enlisted September 4, 1861 in Manatee County.  He was captured 9/20/63 at Chickamauga and released on oath 6/15/65 from Camp Douglas, prison, Chicago, IL. 

Pvt. Johnson received a Florida Confederate Veteran's Pension #A01412 approved Aug. 6, 1907 while living in Ehren PO Pasco County.  Suffered from an old wound in right hip at time of drawing pension.  Pft. Johnson's widow, Winnie, received a Florida Confederate Veteran's widow's pension while residing in Tucker, Pasco County, FL approved Aug. 4. 1914.
