Born:  30 March 1844

Died:  26 May 1901

Final Resting Place: Providence Cemetery, Limona (Riverview), Hillsborough Co., FL

Inscription:

Dearest father: thou hast left us,
And our loss we deeply feel,
But tis God that has bereft us,
He can all our sorrows heal.
Yet again we hope to meet thee,
When the day of life is fled.
Where in Heaven with joy to greet thee,
Where no farewell tear is shed.

Enlisted 7/27/1861 at Tampa.  He was wounded 12/7/1864 in the right leg at Murfreesboro, TN.  He was captured 1/5/1865 at Stewart Creek TN. Part of his left leg was amputated at US General Hospital, Division #1, Murfreesboro. He was sent to Camp Chase, POW Camp as an amputee on 3/23/1865 (age 21) , survived the winter then paroled 5/2/1865 and exchanged at New Orleans, LA.

 

Pvt. Weeks was award a Florida Confederate Veteran's Pension #A11736 on 9 November 1899 in Limona, Hillsborough Co., FL
