Enlisted 7/16/61 at Tampa. He was on detached service driving cattle since October 1863.
Pvt. Crews' widow, Hanson, applied
for and received a Florida Confederate Veteran's
Widow's Pension (A01778) approved
December 1915, while residing in Hillsborough
County, FL. (She applied in the name of
H.L. Higgins upon her divorce from B.F. Higgins.
According to Pension application, Pvt. Crews
transferred from Chickamaugua to drive cattle,
reporting to James McKay in South Florida.
