*  Communication from Historic Oakland Cemetery, Atlanta, GA received 8/16/2011:

“I think I may have found him.  Our Confederate Section listings are published in a book titled Headstones of Heroes. I found 2 listings for 4th Florida, Company K.  One is Thos. A. Gray who died June 18, 1864, hospital unknown and the other is listed as R.J. Carvoy, June 6,1864, Atlanta Medical College Hospital.  I would guess that Carvoy is Carney. You can view the listings from Headstones of Heroes and see a photograph of the headstone by going to www.oaklandcemeteryburials.com.  I do know why the website listing just shows CSA as the unit for Carvoy, the book shows Fla 4, K.
