Served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the 4th Florida Infantry until War's end.  Was wounded three times before he left the field at the Battle of Franklin, TN.

He returned to the law profession after the War.  A 1880 Census locates him living in Louisville, Kentucky, earning a living as a lawyer.

He received a Florida Confederate Veteran's pension, #A00413 from Marion County, Florida.
